Tracy Powell, D.V.M.Tracy received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and Bachelor of Science with Honors from Cornell University. Tracy’s area of special interest is Canine Reproduction. She has bred many of the top winning dogs of their breed. She personally breeds and shows harlequin and mantle Great Danes. Her Danes are shown in conformation, obedience, rally, and agility. They are therapy dogs and “animal actors”. They have appeared in commercials, advertisements, music videos, and catalogs. Tracy is the President of the Great Dane Club in CT. Her 4-legged kids include 5 Great Danes, a rescued Golden Retriever, and a cat. Besides being active with her dogs, Tracy enjoys traveling and scuba diving. Some memorable trips include diving with the whale sharks in Belize and getting up close and personal with the animals in the Galapagos Islands.

Danielle has been a part of the AMC team since 2008. She is a graduate of ROSS University and spent her last year of Vet school studying at Ohio State. Danielle’s interests include Chinese Herbal Therapy, Exotics, and ophthalmology. She enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, Allen, and their son, Ryker. She has two dogs, Cayon and Tyra, and three cats, Shady, Taylorella, and Wheezie. She enjoys time out of the office playing ball with her dogs, doing yoga, and spending time with her family.
Cara joined the staff at the Animal Medical Clinic in May, 2010. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University in 2006. She is a Connecticut native. She shares her home with seven cavalier King Charles Spaniels and one cat! Her hobbies include showing her dogs in conformation and doing agility with her dogs.
Tara Pitura - Practice Manager
Tara came to the Animal Medical Clinic in March, 2009 with a nursing and business background. She shows and breeds English Bulldogs and is a member of the local bulldog club and bulldog rescue. All of her dogs enjoy visiting nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals, and love to interact with the patients. On her free time, Tara volunteers at EPONA, participates in a horseback riding therapy program, and enjoys coaching youth volleyball.
Jodie Vogt - Veterinary Technician
Jodie is the newest member of the Animal Medical Clinic staff. She has been a certified Veterinary Technician since 2006. She shares her home with one dog and seven cats!
Lyndsey Frigon - Veterinary Assistant
Lyndsey joined the AMC family in the Summer of 2008. She came to us with 8 years experience in the veterinary field. Lyndsey is very interested in the care of exotic animals and has worked with Llama's, Bobcats and Hawks. When she is not at work you can find her dancing, spending time with friends or attending local live band shows. Lyndsey loves all things 80's! She is also owned by the sweetest Pit Bull named Bridgette who is seldom found without a smile on her face!
Melissa Coratelli - Veterinary Assistant
Melissa joined the Animal Medical Clinic team in August, 2009. She has had several years of experience in the veterinary field. Her favorite part of the job is with cats! She is known as the "cat whisperer" by both her peers and clients. She shares her home with 2 cats and 1 dog. On her free time, she enjoys reading the Twilight Series!
Carol Lindley - Veterinary Assistant
Carol came to the Animal Medical Clinic in June, 2009. She previously worked in the veterinary field, and took time off to raise her 3 sons. She has been breeding labradoodles for just over 4 years and currently shares her home with her husband, 3 sons, 4 dogs, and a cat.
Rita Aguiar – Veterinary Assistant
Rita joined the Animal Medical Clinic staff in May, 2010. Prior to joining us, she graduated from UCONN with a BS in Animal Science from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. She is well known for her sense of humor and laughter. When she isn’t at AMC, she can be found hiking with her pitbull Zander, dancing with friends, or watching movies with her boyfriend.
Kate Heidel-Heroux - Veterinary Assistant/ Receptionist
Kate has been a veterinary assistant for 18 years and joined the AMC staff in 2008. She shares her home with three dogs and one bird! Kate has a wonderful husband, daughter, and 2 grandsons that keep her very busy outside of the office. On her spare time, you can find her in the garden, playing with her grandkids, and taking fun filled rides with her husband on their Harley!
Sue joined the Animal Medical Clinic team in the fall, 2008. She breeds and shows great danes in conformation and is a member of the local Great Dane club. Sue shares her home with 4 black Great Danes! She has 1 son and 1 daughter, and has two beautiful grandchildren!
Lora started at the Animal Medical Clinic in December, 2009. She has two dogs; Charlie, a Chihuahua and Dude, a German short hair pointer/lab mix. Lora went to UCONN for Animal Science/Equine, to learn how to train horses. On her spare time, she enjoys photography and painting.
Jen Cowles - Receptionist
Jen has been with the Animal Medical Clinic since April, 2008. Jen has two dogs, a husband, and a young daughter who is always on the go that keep her very busy outside of the office!
